Milkcaps

Lactarius spp.

Exude milk on breaking

Bright orange all over, banded orange on cap. Orange milk, best seen by cutting across the stem. All parts bruising green. Milk turns green, but never turns red. Fairly mild in flavour.

Dull orange/brown all over. Cap banded and sometimes pockmarked. Smells of carrots. Mild to slightly bitter in flavour.
